Tournament Driving Directions
(From all directions, beware of elk in the road at dusk and nighttime in the high country)
FROM HIGHWAY 40 (KINGMAN) TO PAYSON
**Take I 40 to Flagstaff approx. 140 miles. (Good rest stop for dogs 15 miles west of Flagstaff
**At exit 195 (right) onto ramp toward I-17/ AZ-89A/ Phoenix/ Flagstaff
**Take ramp onto I-17 for approx. 51 miles toward Sedona/ Phoenix
**Take exit 287 to AZ-260 at Camp Verde to Payson
**Continue on highway 260 toward Payson
**At the 260/87 junction, turn right onto highway 87 toward Payson for approx 25 miles
**Pass through the little villages of Strawberry and Pine to Payson.
**Driving distance approx 255 miles
FROM ALBUQUERQUE TO PAYSON
**Take I 40 west toward Arizona
**Enter Arizona, exit 286 toward AZ-77/ I40/ US 180E /Holbrook /Show Low
**stay on US 180/ SR 77 for approx 2 miles
**turn west onto SR-377 for approx 33 miles (This is a two lane road, but quite straight)
**Turn west onto SR-277 for approx 7 miles
**Turn onto SR 260 for 53 miles (north-west) to Payson
**Driving distance approx 330 miles
FROM TUCSON
**Take I 10 to Phoenix, exit loop 101 North
**From the 101 turn onto loop 202 east, exit Country Club Drive (highway 87, also known as “Beeline “highway to Payson.
** Travel approx 75 miles to Payson.
Driving distance approx. 239 miles There are no gas stations past the Fort McDowell Casino until you reach Payson (approx 70 miles)
FROM SAN DIEGO
**I 8 TO Yuma, continue to Gila Bend. Turn north onto highway 85 to I10 (Phoenix) Follow I-10 and just past the turnoff to highway 17, watch for the turnoff to loop 202 East. Take the 202 and exit Country Club Drive, highway 87 (also known as the Beeline highway) north approx 76 miles to Payson. There are no gas stations past the Fort McDowell Casino until you reach Payson (approx 70 miles)
TO TOURNAMENT SITE FROM PAYSON
Payson is a small town, with one major intersection, highway 260/87 intersection.
**traveling south on highway 87, turn right at the 260/87 intersection onto Longhorn Drive.
**Pass the high school on the left and turn right onto McLane Road for less than a mile.
**Turn left into Rumsey Park, right past the library.
**When you turn right into Rumsey Park, the dog park will be on your right and straight ahead is Rumsey One ball field and the Ramada reserved for our competitors.
**Follow the perimeter road either way to the back of the ball field, where you will find parking.
You can set up any time after 3:00 on Friday. There is crating available in the Ramada or you can put your easy ups inside the park, against the fence. Parks & Recreation is very sensitive to the use of stakes so we will provide zip ties to secure your easy up legs to the fence and cement blocks for the front legs.
Just a reminder, the fire season is upon us in Rim Country so please be extremely careful to extinguish all cigarettes fully.
A hospitality table will be available in the morning each day at 6:30 with coffee, and breakfast goodies. Lunch is provided on Saturday (pizza) and Sunday (sandwiches).
